At RTI Cabinets, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality cabinetry that elevates every kitchen and space we work on. That said, it’s important to understand that cabinetry, like all custom woodwork and furniture, goes through a complex journey—from manufacturing, to delivery, to installation. Along the way, small nicks, dents, or chips can sometimes occur.
Why Do Minor Imperfections Happen?
-
Manufacturing Process: Cabinets and doors are cut, drilled, sanded, and assembled using heavy-duty machinery. Even with the highest quality control, minor chips or surface marks can happen during production.
-
Delivery & Handling: Cabinets are large, heavy items. While they are carefully packaged and transported, movement during shipping or handling can result in small scuffs.
-
Installation: Kitchens are installed in active construction or renovation environments. Tools, fasteners, and movement within the job site can occasionally leave light scratches or dents.
Is This Normal?
Yes—this is completely normal in cabinetry manufacturing and installation. Every professional cabinet company and installer expects a degree of touch-up work at the end of the process.
Think of it this way: just like a freshly painted room often needs final touch-ups once all the furniture is moved in, cabinets also require a finishing stage after installation.
The Final Finishing Stage
Once your cabinets are installed, the installer is responsible for performing touch-ups and detail work to make sure your project looks flawless. This includes:
-
Repairing small nicks, dents, or scratches
-
Filling minor chips
-
Adjusting doors and drawers for perfect alignment
-
Ensuring a clean, finished look before completion
This step is a standard part of the installation process and ensures your cabinetry looks showroom-ready once your kitchen (or project space) is complete.
Our Commitment to You
We want you to feel confident knowing that minor imperfections do not affect the quality, durability, or beauty of your cabinetry. With proper finishing and touch-ups completed by your installer, your cabinets will meet high standards of craftsmanship and deliver lasting value.
